10/31/2023 EnchantaVaughn Approved Behavior: QMHPA arrived to Kaila’s residence. Upon arrival to the home, Kaila was talking on her cell phone. Kaila was loud and used inappropriate languages while on the phone. Kaila shared that she was talking to one of her friends. QMHPA redirected Kaila to get off the phone and prepare for the session. Intervention: QMHPA began the session off by engaging Kaila in a discussion surrounding her current emotional state. QMHPA began by encouraging conflict resolution skills. QMHPA used coaching and instructions on how to use a moderate voice tone when feeling over whelmed as well as some other coping tools to help her communicate more effectively. QMHPA educated Kaila on the definition of a bully. This skill will help Kaila process of what is meant by a bully. QMHPA assisted Kaila with identifying behavioral triggers associated with her anger such as expressions of anger, body language, voice levels and voice tones. This skill will help Kaila learn how to avoid and reduce stress associated with anger. Response: Kaila appeared to be in receptive to QMHPAs’ suggestions that were provided to her during this session. Kaila admitted that her voice tone was loud and her language was harsh. Kaila also acknowledged that she needs to lower her voice and be mindful of what she says to and around others. Kaila did agree that she was not shy about her use of words on the phone because she meant what she said. Kaila shared that lowering her voice when she communicates is one of her short term goals. Kaila stated, “I know my mouth gets me into a great deal of trouble and that is when I get depressed and angry because I feel the consequences are not fair”. Kaila admitted that the incident that occurred could have been avoided. Kaila shared that she felt bad because of her negative behaviors around her counselor. Kaila shared that it is hard for her to take responsibility for her actions. Kaila was commended. Kaila admitted during the session that she can be aggressive with other people especially when she is frustrated or if she feels someone is doing something behind her back. Kaila shared also that she is not the easiest person to get along with because of her anger issues. Kaila did acknowledge that she understood the definition of bullying and was able to process that she could see how her actions on the phone could be viewed as being a bully. Kaila was able to process that she has to calm down in order to get her point across and meet her needs in a timely manner. Plan: QMHPA will utilize role play techniques addressing appropriate and inappropriate behaviors in social settings (1-2x weekly).
